SUMMER PREPARATION – HOW TO GET YOUR SKIN FIT FOR THE WARM SEASON
When the days get longer and the temperatures get milder in spring, not only nature wakes up from hibernation - our skin also changes. In the first part of our summer care special, we'll tell you how to free your skin from the traces of winter and get you fit for the warm season.
What happens to our skin in spring?
Sebum production, which was reduced over the winter, increases again in spring and the skin prepares for the first rays of sunshine. Due to the increased sebum production and increased peeling of the skin, clogged pores and thus impurities can occur more easily. In addition to moisturizing, the focus is on gentle but targeted cleansing of the skin, which is supported by peelings or masks.
How is skin care in spring different from skin care in winter?
In order to restore the skin's natural glow and suppleness in spring, it is important to care for it according to its needs. While rich creams and products with a high lipid content offer the skin sufficient protection and nutrients in winter, care products for spring and summer are generally lighter in formula and aim to refresh and clarify the skin and optimize its metabolic functions.
To prepare your skin for summer, you should therefore choose care products that.
- .Gently remove dead skin cells and ensure a clear, fresh complexion, e.g.b Peelings
- .Enrich the skin with moisture in depth with a booster or a serum so that it looks plump and rosy
- .Strengthen the skin's ability to regenerate, for example with targeted anti-aging cosmetics
- .Make the skin more resistant to UV rays with an everyday sun protection product
- .compensate for disturbed skin functions, such as regulating excessive sebum production, soothing irritations or redness or making dry, rough areas supple, e.g.b with a type-appropriate face mask
- .care for the skin all over the body and tighten and firm the contours, e.g.b with special body care products

Type-appropriate care to prepare different skin types for summer
Not all skin is the same. Our skin type is partly genetic, but is also influenced by factors such as hormonal changes, illnesses, stress or certain environmental influences. Too little sleep or an unhealthy lifestyle have just as much of an impact on the appearance of our skin as improper care. Knowing your skin's needs and responding to them in a targeted manner forms the basis for feeling comfortable in your skin at any age. Here you will find out how to care for your skin according to your type.
Summer preparation for dry skin
Feelings of tension resulting from a lack of moisture and lipids are typical of dry skin. This is often accompanied by a pale complexion, wrinkles, early signs of aging, flaky, rough areas or even itching. With targeted care, you can help improve the moisture and lipid content to protect the skin, strengthen the natural skin functions and thus make your skin more resilient. Selected cosmetics from Dermalogica, which are based on innovative, nature-identical active ingredients, give dry skin the support it needs to be smooth and supple.
Summer preparation for sensitive skin
In the warm season, heat and sunlight cause problems for sensitive skin; it reacts with redness, feelings of heat and tension, dryness, increased flaking or itching.

Care tips for perfect skin preparation for summer
With our tips for skin care in spring you can further optimize the effect of your cosmetic products:
- Only use lukewarm water to cleanse the skin - water that is too hot irritates the skin unnecessarily and removes oil and moisture.
- A tonic or spray, which forms the intermediate step between cleansing and care, gives the skin a freshness kick.
- A serum can be used as a targeted additional care for the skin and ensures maximum radiance and freshness.
- Store your serum in the fridge during the warm season - when you apply it, the coolness also acts as a freshness booster for your complexion.
- Apply regularly, i.e.H At least once a week, apply a peeling that is tailored to your skin needs.
- Make sure you have enough sun protection in spring to protect your skin from damaging UV rays. Light fluids, tinted creams or make-up that have an integrated sun protection factor are ideal for the transition period.
- Instead of a rich cream make-up that sits on the skin and makes it shine slightly, a balancing BB cream or a mattifying powder that absorbs excess shine is more suitable for the warm season.
